Youth Spring Break Camps
Our 2012 Spring Break camps offer something for every kid’s interest. Offerings include: Gadgets & Gizmos Lego camp. Dino Discover Days, Time Travelers: Ancient Greece, Intro to Architecture, Mini Lion-King Performance, Puppet Pandemonium, Interior Design, Clay Creation, Yoga, Astronomy for Teens, and Job Search Boot Camp for Teens.
17144 Gadgets & Gizmos LEGO Spring Break Camp (ages 6-12)
Do you know a LEGO-loving kid? This half-day Spring Break camp involves building with LEGOS, adding gears, axles, motors, battery packs and using models,such as the Optical Spinner, Optical Illusion, Centrifuge-Spin Art, Paper Crinkler and more. Participants will build models in pairs, modifying if they wish. Along the way, campers will learn architecture and enigneering skills. Creative free play with LEGO bricks, computer games, and LEGO Wii will round out the week. All materials are included. Parents are invited on the last day for a video presentation of the week's activities.

This break, strech your creativity and explore architecture and design. Over the course of a week, you will investigate the elements of design--light and shadow, shapes and forms, materials and color--through various design projects. Young designers will learn visual communication, architectural conventions, structural systems and model building techniques.

What suits your style? Learn how you can design your own room or even a whole house! In this class, you will be introduced to interior space planning, architectural drawing and model building. Express yourself through color, materials, patterns, furniture and lighting.

17523 High Desert Yoga Camp (ages 6-11)
High Desert Yoga Kids Camp provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can strengthen their sense of confidence, focus, breath, creativity, physical awareness and appreciation of their whole being through yoga, movement and art. Campers will learn yoga poses, games, mindfulness and self-calming techniques, breathing practices and fun songs.

17700 Puppet Pandemonium Spring Break Camp (ages 6-8)
Young puppeteers learn how to make and perform with puppets and learn their history from around the world. During camp, each student will complete one special puppet and perform with it at the end of the week, putting on a show for family and friends. A materials fee of $10 is payable to instructor at first class.

17715 Ancient Adventures: Greece Spring Break Camp (ages 9-12)
Spend Spring Break in Ancient Greece, where you will take on the role of an Athenian, Spartan or Corinthian. Meet the Greek goods, make an amphora, prepare an ancient Greek treat, try your hand at sword fighting and compete with your city-state mates in a mock Olympics.

17732 Spring Break With the Stars: Astronomy Camp for Teens (ages 13-15)
Spend part of spring break gazing at brilliant skies and exploring astronomy. Our trip will begin at the Lodestar Planetarium in Albuquerque. From there, travel by van to Sevietta National Wildlife Refuge, located 20 miles north of Soccoro. Activities include star gazing, interaction with astronomers and scientists, a fieldtrip to the Very Large Array, hands-on astronomy activities, movie nights and more. Supervision, activities, entrance fees, meals and lodging are included. Participants stay in single-sex casitas with individual bedrooms and indoor plumbing.
