06461 Yoga For Folks Over Fifty
It's never too late and you are not too old or stiff to begin to explore the wonders and benefits of Yoga practice. This series of classes will be geared to the older beginner. If you are dealing with painful knees or feet, arthritis, osteoporosis, issues of balance or the proverbial midlife crisis, you will discover how to use commonly available props and postures to help alleviate these conditions and begin to reverse the aging process. So, if you are 50+ or merely feel like you've lived half a century, open up to the best years of your life with Yoga! Note: Not a medical class - call instructor to discuss any serious condition before signing up.

Both sections: High Desert Yoga - Nob Hill
This class will address the issues of menopause from the yogic perspective. You will learn ways to better handle hot flashes, memory disturbance, depression, insomnia, mood swings, weight gain, bone density issues, hormonal balance and more. Menopause is a natural life transition. In class we will explore ways that the yoga asanas (poses), breath work, and other techniques can enable us to pass through this process mindfully, with less stress and more joy. Appropriate for all levels of yoga experience.

06496 Weight Lifting for Seniors
This introductory course in weight lifting is held specifically for seniors with little or no prior lifting experience. Joe Behrend, a certified personal fitness trainer and owner of One on One Fitness, teaches the class. Several studies have illustrated the importance of developing/maintaining strength for senior citizens in particular. Class participants will be shown proper weight lifting techniques using light to moderate weights based on individual strength. Women and men ages 55 plus are welcome! Enrollment is limited to 12 seniors with no serious health complications.
$150 For: 15 sessions
