G&E Courses Are Open to Everyone

Registration is open to all adults (eighteen years and older) regardless of educational background. In some cases, classes are open to younger persons; this exception is noted in the particular course description. In all but a few courses, there are no examinations, transcripts, credits or grades, although certificates are issued upon request. Growth & Enrichment classes are held in Albuquerque and we offer several classes on the Westside. For more information, call (505) 277-6320.

Note: UNM Continuing Education is a self-sustaining department. All courses have set minimums for enrollment and decisions on whether or not the course will run are made 2-3 days prior to the start date of each class. Please do not wait until the last minute to register!

Tuition Remission

Effective Aug. 1, 2012, active employees and retirees will be eligible to apply the equivalent of undergraduate resident tuition for up to one credit hour per calendar year to approved personal enrichment courses offered by the Division of Continuing Education, UNM Center for Life and other University departments. In addition, active employees and retirees will remain eligible for the equivalent of undergraduate resident tuition for up to two credit hours per calendar year of approved health and fitness courses, and retirees will remain eligible for unlimited academic and professional development courses, subject to the provisions of University Policy 3700.

Employees and retirees are reminded that personal enrichment and health and fitness courses provided through the University are taxable benefits, included in the taxable income of participating employees and retirees. Spouses, domestic partners and dependent children are not eligible for tuition remission on personal enrichment or health and fitness courses.

For questions regarding the UNM tuition remission benefit, call the benefits office at 505-277-MyHR.
