Inclement weather information for students
UNM Continuing Education acts in accordance with the University of New Mexico’s decisions regarding delays and cancellations due to inclement weather conditions.
In case of inclement weather: Call (505) 277-SNOW (505-277-7669) for UNM's status. Listen to local radio and TV stations for school closures including UNM (local media may not announce early closures during the business day)
Delays: In the event UNM announces a two-hour delay, any morning class scheduled to begin before 10:00 am will begin at 10:00 am. Afternoon and evening classes will run as scheduled.
Cancellations: In the event that UNM announces a closure, all classes are cancelled for the duration of the closure. Early closures: In the event that UNM announces an early closure to the business day, afternoon classes will be allowed to leave early and evening classes will be cancelled. These announcements can take place when the weather is questionable and may be posted any time before 5 pm.
UNM Continuing Education classes Saturday and Sunday
Please be advised that The University of New Mexico does not announce changes in open / closed status on weekends nor when the main campus is closed. An example is Spring Break, when Continuing Education remains open. Also note that local radio and TV stations do not announce school closures on weekends.
Please call the Continuing Education information lines on weekends after 7:30 am. Call (505) 277-2527 (information), (505) 925-9562 (reception desk), or (505) 277-0077 (registration) for accurate recorded information on class delays or cancellations.
The normal message will play if there is no change in status. Please check the Continuing Education website, dce.unm.edu, after 7:30 am on weekends. A general announcement will appear if class delays, cancellations or early closures are scheduled due to inclement weather. No announcement will appear if normal business hours are held.
UNM Conference Center events weekdays and weekends
The UNM Conference Center will remain open to provide service to contracted events. Conference Center staff are designated as "essential personnel" by University policy. If you need more information, please contact the host or organizers for your event.
