Story of New Mexico - October Trips and Tours

00262 Chaco Culture National Historical Park

Chaco Canyon, where impressive stone structures were built and aligned nearly perfectly with the seasonal skyward paths of the sun and moon, was a major center of Puebloan culture between AD 850 and 1250. The Chacoan sites are part of the homeland of Pueblo Indian peoples of New Mexico, the Hopi Indians of Arizona, and the Navajo Indians of the Southwest.  From AD 850 to 1250, Chaco was a hub of ceremony, trade and administration for the prehistoric Four Corners area, unlike anything before or since. Join this tour to see this amazing archaeological and anthropologic wonder which attracts tourists from all of the world.
