Explore the relationships between nature’s patterns and shapes and effectively designed visual communications. We will deconstruct the underlying principles of successful visual communications and how they relate to the natural world with exercises and experiments to increase the student’s facility with more effective and aesthetic design. The student will apply what they learn to a personal design project that develops skills in self-expression, design aesthetics and understanding principles of nature’s process. A field trip and guest demonstrations by designers and artists are included. Equipment and materials cost about $25. A materials list wil be available the first day of class. Prerequisite: 55101. Suggested: 55105 or 55201.
