55932 Cinematography II: Lights, Camera, Action!

film reelThis hands-on action-packed course gives participants the feeling of what it’s like to work on an actual film
or television production. In this follow-up to Cinematography Basics: Lights, Camera, Action!, students
participate in realistic production scenarios in a working motion picture studio. Production simulations include lighting and shooting dolly and jib shots, multicamera entertainment, and “poor man’s process” or creating the illusion of a moving vehicle inside the controlled environment of a film studio. Prerequisite: 55931 or 23473.

For: 12 hours
FQA: Nov 7-8 Sa Su 9:00am-4:00pm
Note: Class meets at Rio Grande Studios. A $75 studio
fee will be collected the first day of class, payable to the
instructor.

digital camcorder 2Achieve satisfying and professional-looking footage using your personal digital video camera by applying basic skills and shooting techniques. Emphasis is on hands-on training and video exercises. Topics include camera movement and composition, types of shots that make up a scene, basic lighting setups, microphones and audio, and how to shoot with editing in mind. Prerequisite: 55911, must have a digital video camera.
