This course looks at all aspects of the technique known as chroma keying, including creating or purchasing green and blue screens, and lighting, camera, and editing techniques for chroma keying. film reelThis hands-on action-packed course gives participants the feeling of what it’s like to work on an actual film
or television production. In this follow-up to Cinematography Basics: Lights, Camera, Action!, students
participate in realistic production scenarios in a working motion picture studio. Production simulations include lighting and shooting dolly and jib shots, multicamera entertainment, and “poor man’s process” or creating the illusion of a moving vehicle inside the controlled environment of a film studio. Prerequisite: 55931 or 23473.

Tour the Festival of the Cranes and Holiday Craft Show in Socorro

quiltCome experience the 22nd Annual Festival of the Cranes at Bosque del Apache and the Holiday Festival of the Cranes Crafts Show in Socorro. This is the largest event held in Socorro County each year and UNM Continuing Education has organized a trip on Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 8am-7pm to experience it. An $82 course fee includes a boxed lunch, tour guide (expert, Steve Cox), and transportation. Come prepared to do some holiday shopping bring your cameras to capture the cranes.

Bid on handmade Navajo rugs at the Crownpoint Rug Auction

UNM Continuing Education is pleased to invite you to the Crownpoint Navajo Rug Auction on Friday, November 13, 2009. At the auction you will see many traditional weavers and view exquisite handmade Navajo rugs of all sizes, regional styles, and prices. A large number of Native American crafts people have other wares on sale, including jewelry, pottery, beadwork, and more. Dont miss this significant cultural event. An $87 course fee includes tour guide and transportation. We’ll leave at 12:30pm, have dinner in Grants, and then travel to Crownpoint. There will be time to view the rugs before the auction at 7:00. The bus will leave from Crownpoint at 10:00pm, and return to Albuquerque at midnight. You will find this an unforgettable evening, whether you are interested in purchasing or are just along for the ride.
