Come Try Out the Newest Camcorders!

Enroll in class Digital Camcorders, #23478 starting October 18, 2008. The cost is only $129. Explore the latest technological advances in image capture and storage, compare the newest camcorders and provide basic instruction in camera techniques and maintenance. Basic lighting techniques will also be covered. Equipment will be available so the students have the opportunity to work hands-on with a number of the hottest new camcorders. The course is ideal for entrepreneurs thinking of beginning a new career and for home video enthusiasts who want to take their work to the next level. Note: There is a $50 equipment rental fee due first day of class. Instructed by John Grace.

Explore Public Art in Albuquerque

Travel to Copper Canyon Mexico

Join UMM Continuing Education for an exciting tour of Copper Canyon in Mexico. Learn about the geological forces which created the seven individual canyons. Ride on the “train in the sky”, which ascends 7500 feet in less than 150 miles. Tour includes a scenic cruise on the Sea of Cortez, learning about the Mayo and Tarahumara Indians, visiting the city of Casas Grandes, and the archeological Site of Paquime, a remnant of the great Chichimeca civilization.

Travel cost is $2,350,
participants must register by October 1, 2008.
Travel is scheduled from March 13-21, 2009.

FREE Lecture: Decoding Design

UNM Continuing Education is offering a free lecture: Decoding Design, Understanding and Using Symbols in Visual Communication. Lecture attendees will explore natural patterns and the energetic principals they are associated with, how they relate to number and shape, and how incorporating these qualities can create more effective, more enduring and aesthetic visual communications particularly in the area of identity design, but relative to anyone who works within the visual arts. Identity Design specialist Maggie Macnab will teach how communicating deeply with substantial relevance increases a communication lie span and value.

Guitar and Voice Concert by Fernando L. Delgado

The Spanish Resource Center in Albuquerque offers the guitar and voice concert interpreted by Fernando L. Delgado on October, 3rd, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Wells Fargo Theater in the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque. The guitarist will play songs by Hispanic song writers based on famous Spanish poems.

Attendance is free but you need to reserve a ticket.
