Phlebotomy Program’s first grads celebrate new jobs

Eleven students celebrated their graduation from our inaugural Phlebotomy Certificate Program on Thursday, July 19, 2007. This Phlebotomy Certificate Program is offered in partnership with Tri-Core Reference Laboratories, who offered employment to all of the graduates. About 70 friends and family were on hand to celebrate their efforts at the graduation ceremony in the UNM Continuing Education Auditorium.

Every student spoke to the assembled group, and everyone had a story. One said it had been a lifelong ambition to enter the health care field. Another said the program provided an opportunity to turn their life around.

The next Phlebotomy Program starts in September. There’s a “Discover Phlebotomy” course on August 15th, where you may bring your questions and learn about this career from a pro.

For more information, please contact the Program Supervisor at 277-6025, or email hhs@dce.unm.edu.
