We just wanted to let you know what great speakers will be here in February! During less than 4 short weeks, the Story of New Mexico cooks up lots of tasty local flavor with some larger-than-life local personalities. The return of Irma Bailey, one of the last of the old-time Indian Traders, is quite an occasion. Here’s a second chance to catch this legend in person. We are also excited about a talk and slide show by Robert Montoya, a talented Tewa artist with a distinguished career, including five firsts in the Annual Santa Fe Indian Market. Enjoy the presence of this extraordinary New Mexican while you learn about the famous mural at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Dr. Ramon Flores guides us through two fascinating “tours” through American history and intertwines this tale with the story of the New Mexico Territory. And, look and listen “up-close-and-personal” with award-winning Albuquerque Journal cartoonist John Trever!

If you’ve heard of Toastmaster’s International, you know they are a worldwide success, a supportive system where people re-invent themselves into better communicators with more confidence. Continuing Education offers a course, SpeechCraft, which features a Toastmaster’s curriculum and is taught by a Toastmaster’s leader. The program director is also considering offering courses in Parliamentary Procedure. The first course will train participants to lead a meeting using Robert’s Rules of Order. The course will be taught by a certified Parliamentarian (did you know they have a very active professional group in Albuquerque?) and will include instruction as well as interaction during a practice-meeting.
