In today’s world, the possibilities for creating scrapbooks digitally are nearly infinite. Digital Scrapbooks are a “hot topic” and a natural for today’s digital photography.

New stuff for the holidays? As we upgrade, we’re left with old cellphones or computers. UNM has its own recycling plant for its vast scope of equipment to help “keep it green” and out of the landfill. Here’s some online resources for the consumer.
Recycling computers: Manufacturers like Dell (dell.com), HP (hp.com) and Apple (apple.com) offer recycling options.
Donating computers: The National Cristina Foundation (cristina.org) will hook up your old PC or Mac with a nonprofit organization.
Recycling cell phones: Drop off your old cell phone at your local Staples store as part of a Sierra Club recycling effort (sierraclub.org/cellphones/).
Recycling cell phones and batteries: To find a drop-off center for rechargeable batteries and cell phones, check out the nonprofit Call2Recycle program at rbrc.org.
If you know of any other local resources for recycling electronics, please drop us a line at the webmaster address at the bottom of the page.
Will the snow clear in time for our planned re-opening on Wednesday morning? Stay tuned! Just FYI, you can always call 277-SNOW to get UNM’s schedule in inclement conditions.
Update: We made it! Like everyone else, we are stumbling over the ice, but our intrepid crew is here to serve you.
In the meantime, I wanted to let you know about the fine creativity of local photographers in capturing some of the magic of this “Storm of the Century.” Thanks to the bloggers at DukeCityFix.com, who created a community experience with storm photos at the Flickr site at:
