Fabled storyteller shares family tales of Jewish pioneers

Jewish History in New Mexico

Learn the struggles of Jewish pioneers in New Mexico like they were your own family with the fabled storyteller Sharon Niederman. An author who specializes in New Mexico, and former President of the New Mexico Jewish Historical Society, Sharon shares family tales in her lecture, then guides us to a Las Vegas cemetery where the headstones speak of the journey from Germany across the Santa Fe Trail. Be treated to Yiddish words, wisdom and sayings over lunch. Sharon has guided many Field Trips for the Story of New Mexico and is a favorite with our students for her wit, warmth and wisdom.
