Two of our instructors specialize in empowering our students. They share the specialty they’ve spent a lifetime learning, where they found their own power.
Dan King teaches hands-on auto repair. His classes are different than most auto mechanics courses, which may spend more time on theory. Dan teaches practical, straightforward repairs, working on his student’s own cars as teaching examples, solving their problems and addressing their real-world questions.
Dan has been repairing cars for over 30 years, with an ASE Certification as a Master Mechanic and a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Dan hears from some of our students many years after they take his class, as they share success stories of keeping their cars in good repair and saving money.

Elizabeth Barnes-Streett teaches our students how to make safe, natural body products at home. She shows our students how to avoid costly mistakes.
Elizabeth is very aware of the questionable ingredients in major name-brand body products. She tries to educate her students on what they are ingesting (through their skin) with these products and what reactions the chemicals are actually causing in their bodies. It’s easier than you think to make quality lotions, salves and balms at home using simple, natural, healthful ingredients. Her classes cover sources for these ingredients and good practices.
Elizabeth honored the memory of her great-grandmother the first time she made her own soap. She found it an empowering and nurturing experience, and she’s taught over 900 people since then. Elizabeth teaches at her own Streett Studio in Bosque Farms. Her classes are nurturing and fun, as she wants her students to experience all of the self-nurturing that self-made body care products can provide.
