An award-winning caterer and owner of the Blue Plate Special, a combined catering business and cooking school, Scott teaches some very innovative yet fundamental cooking classes at Continuing Education. “I want to make food and cooking a positive thing for my students,” says Scott. A long history with cooking includes 27 years of teaching French and Italian Cuisine at The Epicurean Gallery, her own business in New York City. An unshakable longing for New Mexico brought her to the Southwest over 10 years ago, and she quickly attracted a following. Gilda’s lifetime of delight in cooking and teaching is evident, and her students are caught up in her enthusiasm. Gilda teaches a diverse range of cuisine from all over the world:
