Customer Testimonials

Below are listed testimonials from satisfied customers of UNM Continuing Education Custom Services.

“We sought out a source for Project Management training for our site here in Albuquerque. We contacted UNM Continuing Education and worked with them to develop a customized Project Management training course. The training proved to be top notch and the tools that we developed in class are currently being used by our project teams. Cabot's experience with UNM’s Continuing Education program was very positive.”

- Scott Haubrich, PhD, R&D Manager, Security Materials, Cabot Corporation

"Our managers and supervisors have been attending UNM Continuing Education's Leadership program since April 2009. UNMCE allowed us to customize the training to fit our needs. The leadership program has been filled with a lot of great training materials and information that can be used in our everyday environment. Our leaders at Sara Lee have improved upon their skills and continue to use what they have learned from the leadership classes daily.

The staff at UNMCE has provided great service for us and is a pleasure to work with. Thank you."

- Judi Huebner, Human Resources Generalist, Sara Lee Corporation

“We were able to utilize our real world experiences and incorporate them into the Project Management class assignments and discussion.”

- Cindy Heavner, Sr. Program Manager, Project Management Office, Lovelace Hospital

Our company is in the process of upgrading our network infrastructure to current Microsoft Windows technology. I'd thought you'd be interested in some feedback we recently received.

Six months ago, our company hired a consultant from Microsoft for a site assessment and recommendations for the upgrade. His recommendations included a concentrated training program, which is when I contacted UNM Continuing Education’s Customized Training Program for various classes.

We are nearing the deployment of the new technology, and the same consultant recently returned to our company for the actual go-live. One of his current tasks is to evaluate our state of readiness for the deployment. He has commented several times about the amazing change in the knowledge level of the staff, and how well they've been trained. He said whoever did the training, did an excellent job. Since I attended some of the classes, I definitely agree. It's also nice to get feed back from someone witnessing a "before and after" snapshot of our staff, and to get such glowing comments.

So, I'd like to pass on my "Thanks" to the UNM Continuing Education Custom Training Program staff and instructors.

I had the privilege of working with Leah Kier through a state agreement for professional services designed to standardize curriculum and create participant and leader guides for four core continuing education courses required of real estate brokers by the New Mexico Real Estate Commission.

Leah and the team of project managers, instructional designers, and subject matter experts she assembled performed what was originally intended to be a twelve month project in less than six months. The products were a standardized course template that will be used in future courses, two outstanding manuals, and an instructor resource link on the Real Estate Commission web site.

The project was the first significant use of the Education and Training Fund established by the legislature to improve real estate broker education and improve instructor skills, and it provided extremely valuable groundwork for the Commission’s goal of public protection through the enhancement of the broker education.

State of New Mexico, Real Estate Commission

“I am writing on behalf of the Custom Training Program at the University of New Mexico’s Division of Continuing Education (UNMCE). The Custom Training Program responded to our request for a Civilian Leadership Program here at Kirtland AFB. Initially, we met to ensure that the content and process would work for our civilian population. UNMCE was able to quickly incorporate our needs and constraints into a program taught by highly experienced instructors, all of whom currently work in their fields of expertise. The program provides a series of modules - one per month for eight months. Although the modules are discrete, there is a unique process ties them all together so that learnings from each module are revisited in other modules. This ensures that the flow of the information is consistent throughout the program. Student evaluations are consistently in the 90% range and indicate the timeliness of content, professionalism of instructors, and the relevance of topic - and all this in a comfortable, inclusive atmosphere that encourages a high degree of participation. We are delighted with the Civilian Leadership Program and grateful to UNM CE for providing it.”
