51010 Learn to Use a Computer at any Age
Using a computer is for everyone! This beginning computer course for adults acquaints the novice with computer terminology, essential concepts, and best of all--actual experience at the computer. Topics include startup and shutdown procedures, keyboard and mouse operation, and an overview of popular computing functions. Each student will work at their computers and will have access to a computer lab between classes. Note: See course skills assessment.

51101 Windows 7: Operating System Basics
Learn the basic functions of Windows, how to customize its setup, and create and work with shortcuts. Work with the Taskbar, Windows Explorer, Control Panel, file management, Accessories, the Find utility, and on-line Help. Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge. This course is suitable for students who have XP operating systems. Vista users should take course 52002. Note: See Course Skills Assessment.

52007 Windows: New Features
This class touches on the new features in Windows 7 compared to XP or Vista. New features include changes to the Start menu, taskbar, desktop, and Windows Explorer. Students will get an overview of pinning programs to the taskbar, using jump lists to open documents, and working with libraries as tools for grouping folders. This course is designed to cover the topics quickly and accurately. Prerequisite: Experience with Windows XP or Windows Vista.
