Our Arts courses feature professional and life-long artists who teach drawing and painting, and many unexpected courses that challenge and awaken your creativity.

Our Arts courses are welcoming and encouraging for beginners as well as nurturing accomplished artists. Beginners may discover their inner artist in courses such as Portrait Drawing: Beginning, and a favorite with our students for many years, Beginning Jewelry and Metals taught by Kristin Diener.

In the Growth & Enrichment Program, students can learn to paint in several different traditional forms of media, with many different classes in everything from pastels to acrylics to oils. Challenge yourself with a new course such as Sketching on the Go, Raku Pottery Potluck, and Brass and Copper Etchings. There's something for everyone!

02199 Stoneware and Raku Pottery
Imagine eating from cups, bowls, and plates that you've created yourself, or decorating your home with your own hand made sculpture. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced you can learn our simple techniques to develop new skills including hand building, wheel throwing and using bisque molds. You'll also learn about glazing and firing in stoneware and raku kilns. Raku firing is an exciting method for achieving iridescent and metallic glazes. In less than an hour you can bring home colorful raku pieces right from the kiln. Participants will share the energy and enthusiasm that's part of working together in a pottery studio. Additional studio time is available on Fridays and Saturdays. Note: A $50 materials and firing fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.
