Welcome From the Dean
At UNM Continuing Education, we believe that lifelong learning is the key to unleashing the tremendous potential of individuals and society. The centerpiece of our coursework is professional continuing education and workforce development, essential to the needs of our ever-changing work environments. Because the balance of life beyond work is also important, we also provide a rich array of personal enrichment offerings for all age groups. Programs start throughout the spring and registration is easy. We serve more than 30,000 people of all ages each year. Join us and you’ll soon know why our students come back again and again.
Empower your career opportunities through our professional development offerings, taught by skilled experts. Our programs are known for their high quality, so you can put your new skills and knowledge to work in advancing your career or switching to a new profession. Highlights this semester include: Green Web Design with Online Forms, Strata Green IT Manager Certification, Online Trainer Certificate and Injury Prevention Specialist Certification. Customized courses are our specialty, so give us a call at 505-277-6034, if you’d like to hear more about options tailored to your schedule and needs.
Our personal enrichment offerings run the gamut from art to yoga. You can develop your artistic skills, hone your golf swing, learn a language, sharpen your writing skills and much more. Check out our Story of New Mexico offerings, full of interesting lectures and educational trips and tours. Join us on a trip to Carlsbad Caverns and the Mescal Roast, a tour of the D.H. Lawrence Ranch, or visit our state’s monuments or museums. You’ll have fun meeting people with similar interests as you explore the culture and natural beauty of our state.
If you are 50 or older, join our growing community of more than 1000 members in our Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Just $20 annually provides access to a special catalog of programs, plus special member events and other great benefits.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you!
Sincerely,
Dr. Rita Martinez-Purson
