ESL and Workplace English
UNM Continuing Education’s Custom Training Program is pleased to offer ESL and Workplace English classes for your organization or company. We offer three levels of ESL as well as Workplace English classes.
Basic ESL
Basic ESL is a class for the student who speaks, understands and writes little or no English, has difficulty communicating in work and life situations that require English, may communicate through gestures or a few words. Probably has no knowledge or use of computers.
Level 1 ESL
Level 1 ESL is a class for the student who can understand and use simple English words and phrases, has some ability to communicate in English at work and in social situations, can read simple passages and fill out simple forms and read signs. May have minimal knowledge and use of computers.
Level 2 ESL
Level 2 ESL is a class for the student who can understand and participate effectively and comfortably in English in everyday work and social situations, has a basic control of English grammar, can write simple sentences, and reads well enough to get by at work and in everyday activities. Probably can use basic computer applications.
Workplace English
Workplace English is a class for students that integrates ESL with your specific workplace words and phrases to enhance workplace communication.
Logistics
Working with our expert UNM CE Custom Training Program staff, we will co-create an ESL program that meets the unique needs of your business or organization.
Our training is highly interactive and based upon the needs and experiences of the participants. Classes can be conducted at your location or ours at a time and date convenient to you.
About our UNM CE Instructors
Our ESL instructors have many years of experience teaching ESL. They have proven track records of success in helping their students to feel safe and comfortable enough to learn and practice the English language. We monitor student evaluations in order to be certain our instructors receive consistently excellent evaluations from their students.
