Apple Authorized Training Center
UNM Continuing Education is an Apple Authorized Training Center for the Apple Pro applications in the Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio bundles for video production and audio recording and editing. This includes Final Cut Pro, Motion, DVD Studio Pro, Color, Soundtrack Pro, Logic Pro, and others. We currently have Apple Certified Trainers in Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, Apple’s premiere video-editing and audio-editing software, used by professionals in the film and recording industry.
Students may earn the designation of Apple Certified Pro in any chosen Apple Pro application, which is quite a distinction on a resumé, by taking Apple Certification exams at Continuing Education.
Digital Arts Computer Lab
Enjoy classes in our Digital Arts computer lab with Apple Macintosh dual-processor G5 and Dell Precision dual-processor student workstations, both with 23" Apple Cinema Display monitors for these visual, demanding and rewarding disciplines. Our Digital Arts Lab also features a large format Epson Photo Printer, a 3200 dpi image scanner, stereo headphones for courses with audio, and a high quality Epson projector system. Adobe CS3 is making Digital Media history. Adobe did something no one has done before — an upgrade of 13 applications at the same time that is changing the way digital media artists and designers work. Adobe Creative Suite 3 is revolutionary! Last year, Adobe merged with Macromedia, the other giant digital media company. The subsequent software upgrade combined their products while keeping the best of both worlds. Even more exciting for designers and artists, the user interface is the same from one application to another; consistent and recognizable, using the same shortcuts. This blending together of digital arts software makes the workflow much easier than it used to be — such as smoother production on a project incorporating Photoshop, Flash and After Effects, for example.
Final Cut Studio 2 is Apple’s must-have award-winning video and audio production suite. With six powerful applications, including Final Cut Pro 6, Motion 3, Soundtrack Pro 2, Color, Compressor 3, DVD Studio Pro 4, Cinema Tools 3, LiveType 2, and Apple Qmaster 2, Final Cut Studio 2 puts everything together for the video or audio editor.
