Adventurer, videographer, photographer and cinematographer
Barak Naggan
Barak Naggan is a professional adventure video and stills photographer, cinematographer and owner of a local multimedia production company who travels the world doing what he loves to do. He has documented trips for Israeli television and magazines. He was the primary videographer for an Israeli aerial photography company. Barak is one of the first to complete the training with Apple Computers to become an Apple Certified Trainer in New Mexico, and the scope of his expertise and professional experience are quite an asset for Continuing Education at UNM.
His interest in landscape photography began in his late teens as he discovered Israel's wildly diverse scenery from the window of his Israeli Air Force helicopter. After living nearly all of his life in Israel, Barak was so inspired by the beauty of the American southwest on his first visit that he made the decision to relocate to New Mexico in 2001.
A passion for nature photography combined with an itch to travel has led Barak to spend much of the past ten years wandering the world — with adventures like rafting in Ethiopia, hiking in Nepal, kayaking in New Zealand and skiing cross-country to the North Pole. His explorations and photography have encompassed over 40 countries, covering every continent but the Antarctic (so far!). His photography may be viewed online at www.naggan.com.
His work was recently recognized by the European National Geographic Channel, which commissioned a film of an adventure in Egypt’s Western Desert. His cinematography experience includes a feature film and two shorts featured in the last two Duke City Shootouts.
